Do you have a room in your house that is always cold in the winter and hot in the summer? Does your HVAC system never seem to meet your home’s temperature needs? Temperature variations can be frustrating and bothersome. Luckily there are ways to correct them!
Multi-Zone Heating and Cooling Systems
If you have a room that is never the right temperature, it is most likely due to its location. Rooms further away from your system don’t get as much airflow and are therefore colder or warmer than the rest of the house. Manage the temperature in individual rooms and spaces with a multi-zone heating and cooling system. Zoning allows you to have control over the temperature and comfort in each area of your home.
System Size
Temperature variations and discomfort may also be the result of an HVAC system that is not the right size for your home. When your system is too small, it is hard to keep your home comfortable. The heating or air conditioning may never be able to meet the temperatures you set your thermostat to. Many people believe having a smaller system will save them money, but the opposite is true. A small system has to work harder and use more electricity to meet your comfort level.
A system that is too big for your home has too much power. It reaches the desired temperature quickly and shuts off before running its full cycle. This is called short-cycling and it increases the chances of your system being damaged or breaking down.
